LeBron James Returns Home

The prodigal son returns to Cleveland Ohio, LeBron James once again turned the NBA world into a frenzy, this time announcing his decision to leave the Miami Heat and join the Cleveland Cavaliers.

LeBron had a distinctive approach with his decision this course, notifying Pat Riley and his closest teammate Dwayne Wade first of his choice in Las Vegas. A personal matter, there were hints leading up to the day, but it made sense. When James decided to break the news to the media the public reaction was phenomenal, as expected the people of Ohio embraced their superstar.

For Cleveland, most of that past is forgiven and forgotten. Do they really mind that they’ve experienced some tough times since his departure? Well with a city like Cleveland, sports success is probably the furtherest thing. A history that correlates with failure, disappointment and distress the city of Cleveland has exulted. But now fans realise its about to change with hope of being a competitive franchise in the NBA once again, and for LeBron it’s a chance to make it all right again after falling short in his first seven seasons in Ohio.

James released an embracing letter that extraordinarily converged on his journey in the game that he loved and the much anticipation of returning home. “Home is where the heart is” James said, and nobody can really argue with that.

The Heat got to experience two championships, which may fall short of what was “insanely promised”, but now the Heat can move on and see what Wade has left to offer with the help of Bosh and accompanying role players.I think the deal is sincerely positive for both parties, I believe James was always going to return home, and the timing feels right bringing a former superstar back to where it all started.

Looking to the new season LeBron will have a chance to play with rising point-guard Kyrie Irving, who should significantly improve along with exciting young rookie prospect Andrew Wiggins, if he is not traded for Kevin Love.

The Cavaliers finished the 2013-14 season ranked 20th in assists percentage (57.2), via NBA.com. The style of playing as a point-forward, James will reduce the pressure off Irving’s shoulders as a facilitator in a team that has fair ball movement in reference to last years statistics.

The team did improve when Luol Deng was brought in during the season from Chicago Bulls. Deng slightly improved the ball movement, but little effect can be compared to what LeBron is capable of. We already know James is a willing passer and can split few possessions with Kyrie in order to breakdown opponents. The addition of Mike Miller and James Jones indicates the same approach the Heat took with James becoming a passer and looking for his open shooters when he attracts multiple defenders in the lane.

James will be returning back to Cleveland on a 2 year deal worth $48 million dollars. It spells the end of a four-year stint with the Miami Heat where he won two NBA titles with the help of fellow NBA all-stars; Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. Miami encountered the heights of LeBron’s dominance, injecting fear into their opponents on a daily-basis. There is know doubt the success the Heat squad achieved together was phenomenal reaching four NBA finals, leaving with two rings.

If the Cavaliers somehow pull off a trade for Kevin Love, we may have a new NBA favourite. Currently packages are in the mix, with Love demanding a strong desire to be traded this summer.
